Welcome!
‘The micro-hub approach is designed so that parcels are stored in an interim warehouse located directly within the delivery area prior to delivery, enabling them to be delivered by cargo bikes within a smaller radius of the micro-hub.'
That's how the German Federal Association for Parcel and Express Logistics (BPEX) defined the ‘micro-hub’ concept in a sustainability study back in 2017.
Mobile micro hubs (e.g. containers), micro depots, stand alone micro hubs – or whatever the final transhipment points in the supply chain may be defined or referred to – they all share a central urban location combined with environmentally friendly last mile (cycle) logistics.
We want this portal to provide guidance and support for local authorities, retailers, project developers, those with interest in logistics, and all other stakeholders in the last-mile sector.
